The funds will be destined to promote sport among children and youngsters with special needs.

Sport and solidarity have once again demonstrated their transformative power on the streets of Barcelona. Following the huge success in terms of participation at the 46th El Corte Inglés Race, held on May 10th, representatives from El Corte Inglés and Under Armour presented a charity cheque to the Cruyff Foundation.

The total amount raised is €32,337, a contribution that will go towards our social inclusion projects, which aim to ensure that physical activity and sport are accessible to children and youngsters with special needs.

The cheque presentation ceremony provided the perfect finale to a historic edition of the race. This year’s race broke all participation records, with all 40,000 available race numbers running out in record time, forcing the organisers to increase the limit to 50,000 participants. This historic figure filled Barcelona’s main streets with energy, inclusivity and a festive atmosphere.

Pati Roura, director of the Cruyff Foundation: “We would like to thank El Corte Inglés, Under Armour and everyone who decided to buy the charity T-shirt and run for a good cause. At the Cruyff Foundation, we have been working for over 30 years to enable children and young people to take part in sport and improve their quality of life.”
