Rafael van der Vaart opens first Cruyff Court in Germany
In Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, a new Cruyff Court officially opened today! The Cruyff Court was developed by the Cruyff Foundation, with support from Action. Located on the grounds of Helmut-Schmidt-Gymnasium, the new sports and meeting space offers children and youngsters a place to play football, be active and connect with others in their neighbourhood.

Cruyff Court in Rotterdam named after Leo Beenhakker
The renovated Cruyff Court in Rotterdam-Charlois has been officially reopened and named after Leo Beenhakker. The Rotterdam football legend now has a lasting place in the neighbourhood where he grew up. A place where new generations of children can play sports together, have fun and develop.

Ajax vs FC Barcelona Legacy Match
On Sunday 15 November 2026, legends of AFC Ajax and FC Barcelona will come together at the Johan Cruijff ArenA for the Legacy Match. The special match celebrates Johan Cruyff and his lasting impact on both clubs and the generations that follow in his footsteps. We’re proud that the proceeds from this match will go to the Cruyff Foundation.

Meet our new board member: Freeke Heijne
Recently, Freeke Heijne joined the board of the Johan Cruyff Foundation. The organization is not entirely new to her: as a lawyer, she had already advised the Cruyff Foundation. She is now a judge in training and, in her new role as a board member, is committed to making sport accessible to as many youngsters as possible.

Cruyff Foundation Open Day, Amsterdam
A stadium filled with sport, more than 1.300 children and over 30 different sports to try. Today, the Olympic Stadium in Amsterdam was all about sport and having fun during the Cruyff Foundation Open Day. Throughout the afternoon, children with and without special needs had the chance to play football, tennis and wheelchair basketball, as well as try their hand at many other sports.

A day on the survival course
Last Thursday, 330 students from special education schools in Groningen and Drenthe took part in the Survival Experience Run. At the Hommes Outdoor survival course in Groningen, the students tackled the route in small groups, taking on various obstacles and survival activities along the way.

Meet our new board member: Jeroen Hoencamp.
Jeroen Hoencamp recently joined the Dutch Board of the Johan Cruyff Foundation. After an international career in the telecommunications industry, during which he lived and worked in five different countries, he now focuses on board and advisory roles. This also gives him more time to pursue his other passions, including travelling and sport.
