Urgency: insecurity

Many young people are concerned about their future and often feel uncertain about their place in society.

The figures show how significant this issue is:

  • 15% of secondary school pupils have little to no confidence in the future.
  • 35% regularly or frequently experience performance pressure.
  • Only 40% of people with a disability are able to stand up for themselves.
  • 89% of school pupils are sufficiently resilient, but a proportion struggle to cope with setbacks.
  • 42% of young adults struggle to recover after a difficult period.
  • Between 10–30% of young people worldwide experience a negative self-image or low self-esteem.
