As a warm-up to the World Cup, the 20th edition of the Cruyff Foundation Cup took place today, the Cruyff Foundation’s annual corporate tournament. At the Friendship Sports Centre in Amsterdam, 26 corporate teams came together.
We raised an impressive €85,214 during this sporting day. The amount will go towards our sports projects for children with disabilities.
Sport for charity
The Cruyff Foundation Cup was once again held at the Friendship Sports Centre, home of Only Friends. A special place where children and youngsters with special needs can take part in sports every day. Together, we share the same goal: making sport and enjoyment accessible to everyone.
Alongside the football matches, participants also got to try wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball, made possible by Only Friends.

Ambassadors in action
Once again this year, two Cruyff Foundation ambassador teams took to the pitch. Led by Frank Rijkaard and Sjaak Swart, they competed against the corporate teams. Players on the field included Demi de Zeeuw, Khalid Boulahrouz, Anouk Hoogendijk, Danny Landzaat, Lieke Vis, Urby Emanuelson, Peter Rozenbeek, Michael Mols, Patricia Keeldar and Olaf Lindenbergh.

Exciting final
After a day full of sporting competition, Deppt and Sjaak’s ambassador team reached the final. In a closely contested match in which both teams gave everything, the ambassadors ultimately came out on top. They were crowned winners of the 20th edition of the Cruyff Foundation Cup.
The Respect Award, given to the team that stood out for sportsmanship, teamwork and positive spirit, went to Engel Foreign Food.
Thank you
An event like this is only possible thanks to the commitment of all volunteers, ambassadors, referees, participants and sponsors who supported the Foundation.
Photographers Mariëlle van Opbergen and Sebastiaan Nederhoed, thank you for capturing this special day.
