Jesse David Edwards is a Dutch basketball player currently playing for the West Virginia Mountaineers. He previously played for the Syracuse Orange in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). With an impressive height of 2.11 meters, 23-year-old Jesse is a dominant center. He also plays an important role in the Dutch national men's team, which makes him stand out internationally.

The young and talented athlete has a special bond with the Cruyff Foundation and Johan Cruyff. "I used to always play on these Cruyff Courts myself. I really grew up there and I know how important they are. They have boosted my enthusiasm for all different kinds of sports." explains Edwards.

Edwards' choice to wear number 14 -a tribute to Johan Cruyff- not only relates to sport symbolism, but also to a deep cultural connection. "I play with number 14 because I grew up in the same neighborhood as Johan: Betondorp. It was just in the culture to live with the same attitude and with the same love for sports. For me it was an easy choice," Edwards says enthusiastically.

With a strong vision of the role of sport on society, Edwards talks about the value of playing outdoors for children: "Sport is really fun, it's a reason for children to get out of the house and do something fun outside. Thereby, it's healthy to go outside and build friendships. It's one of the most important things, especially when you're younger." His commitment to this belief and personal connection to the values of the Cruyff Foundation make him an ideal fit as an ambassador.

We are incredibly excited to add Jesse to our ambassador team.
