The new Eredivisie season is about to kick off, but not before the traditional opener: the Johan Cruyff Shield match. Also known as the most socially impactful game of the year, this edition raised an impressive €28,745 for our sports projects!
The new football season kicked off in the PSV stadium, where PSV faced Go Ahead Eagles. It was a tense match for the fans in Eindhoven, but in the final fifteen minutes, PSV turned the game around and secured the win. Congratulations!
Special meaning
The match is traditionally linked to our namesake, and for every ticket sold, €1 contributed to the fantastic total of €28,745 raised this year. We are incredibly grateful for this generous support for our sports projects. It enables us to offer children, for whom sport, and play are not a given, the chance to be active, develop themselves, and build a better future.

In the spotlight
G-football players from Go Ahead Eagles and PSV played a special role today: they walked out alongside their football heroes during the line-up, made a special lap of honour at half-time with mascot Cruyffie, and helped out during the award ceremony. Great to have you with us!
Ronald Koeman presents the trophy
The PSV players received the Johan Cruyff Shield from none other than national team coach and Cruyff Foundation ambassador Ronald Koeman.

Support and score!
To mark the Johan Cruyff Shield, we launched a special giveaway: everyone who donated at least €5 had a chance to win a signed shirt from PSV or Go Ahead Eagles. One shirt from each team was raffled off.
Many thanks to the KNVB, PSV and Go Ahead Eagles for a memorable evening and this valuable contribution to our projects!
