The Johan Cruyff Foundation and the Sven Kramer Academy bring ice skating joy to children in special education, right in the heart of Amsterdam.
Following the success of last year's Ice Sports Day at Thialf, this year the Ice Sports Day has expanded to a new location, Museumplein in Amsterdam. Once again, the Cruyff Foundation and the Sven Kramer Academy join forces to give children in special education an unforgettable day on the ice. With the edition at Museumplein, an important first step has been taken towards organising the Ice Sports Day at multiple locations across the Netherlands.

Ice skating joy for everyone
This morning, around 123 children took to the ice at the the Museumplein Ice Rink. The children enjoyed free skating and took part in various fun activities, such as ice stick throwing and snowball throwing, esuring that everyone could take part. Cruyff Foundation ambassadors Marlou van Rhijn and Koen Weijjland were there to encourage and inspire the children.

Tailored and inclusive programme
This edition of the Ice Sports Day focuses on children with physical and multiple Special Needs from the Amsterdam region. In addition to ice skating, participants could take part in a specially adapted ice games course, allowing every child to join in and enjoy the day in their own way.
The activities were guided by coaches from the Sven Krramer Academy, together with volunteers from the Cruyff Foundation and Aangepast Sporten Amsterdam.
Ice Sports Day returns to Heerenveen
The Next Ice Sports Day is already scheduled. On Friday 20 March, the event will return to Thialf in Heerenveen, where hundreds of children will once again enjoy sport, movement and fun on the ice.
