This is the story of Cecilia Mateos, the girl who has been present at different Cruyff Court openings that we have carried out during the last few years in Spain.
It all started in 2017. At that time, Cecilia was 11 years old and attended the opening of the Cruyff Court Joaquín Sánchez in El Puerto de Santa María. In addition, that same year she participated as a goalkeeper in the 'Salid y disfrutad 6vs6' school football tournament which took place at the same Cruyff Court.
A photo of Cecilia taken during that opening, months later became the photo chosen to star in our photocall that has accompanied us in almost all the openings of new Cruyff Courts in Spain along with Cruyff Foundation ambassadors such as Andrés Iniesta, Aitana Bonmatí, Carles Puyol, Ronaldinho, Fernando Torres, Iker Casillas, Sergi Roberto, Raúl González or Ronald Koeman.
Almost 10 years later, Cecilia, now 20 years old, was present as an ambassador of the Cruyff Foundation at the opening of the new Cruyff Court La Línea de la Concepción, the city where she lived with her parents when she was little.
