Els Hostalets de Pierola (Barcelona). The Cruyff Foundation board member, Pep Guardiola; the Cruyff Foundation president, Susila Cruyff; the Cruyff Foundation director, Pati Roura; the mayor of Els Hostalets de Pierola, Gerard Parcerisas; and the former mayor of Els Hostalets de Pierola, Daniel Vendrell, opened the 'Cruyff Court Els Hostalets de Pierola' to promote sports among children and young people in the town. This new facility has been possible thanks to the collaboration of the City Council of Els Hostalets de Pierola.

The Cruyff Courts project was started in 2004 and currently has more than 260 Cruyff Courts around the world. The Cruyff Courts are small free-use football fields that aim to promote sports and values such as responsibility, integration, team play and personal improvement, as well as preventing sedentary lifestyle and childhood obesity.

This initiative also promotes two specific projects in these soccer fields: the Cruyff Courts 6vs6, championships for boys and girls from 10 to 12 years in which all the Cruyff Courts participate, and the Heroes of the Cruyff Courts, with the objective that young people from different neighbourhoods learn to organize their own tournament.
