Another brand new Cruyff Court opened in the UK yesterday. It will be part of a Multi-Use Games area on the St. Matthews Estate in Leicester, offering the local youth in this income deprived neighborhood some positive vibes!
The Cruyff Court St. Matthews is designed to be so much more than just a football pitch. It is a place where children learn about respect, responsibility and integration through sports. A wonderful project, funded by the players of the People's Postcode Lottery and many other partners. This project was initiated by St Matthews Big Local, a charity that teamed up with the Cruyff Foundation and Leicester City Football Club Community Trust to make it happen. Special thanks to the legendary Steve Walsh for being at the opening ceremony!
